If you want your savings to pay you every month, Pakistan has several low-risk options, most of them backed by the government. This guide compares them using the latest rates in October 2026.

Which Option Suits You?
- Retired, widowed or disabled? Behbood certificates or the Pensioners’ Benefit Account give the highest monthly income.
- Want monthly income and anyone can apply? Regular Income Certificates are the simplest choice.
- Happy with profit every six months? PIBs and Special Savings Certificates pay a similar or slightly higher rate.
- Need to withdraw any time? A savings account gives flexibility, but a lower rate.
Don’t Forget Tax
On most of these schemes, non-filers pay double the withholding tax of filers. On Rs 10 lakh in a Regular Income Certificate, that is a difference of about Rs 1,500 a month. See how to become a filer.
Inflation Check
Headline inflation was 10.3% in September 2026, and SBP raised the policy rate to 12% on 26 October 2026. When inflation is close to your return, the real growth of your money is small, so many investors keep part of their savings in growth assets such as mutual funds or stocks for the long term.
